18  Nara / the ruins of Heijokyo

Daigokumon Gate (South Gate), which was restored on the ruins of Heijokyo ancient capital. The Kintetsu train runs through Heijokyo, so you can also see the Suzakumon Gate on the other side.

18  Nara / Horyuji Temple 

The highlights of Horyuji Temple are the oldest five-story pagoda in Japan and the world's oldest wooden main hall. It houses cultural assets of national treasure class, and the entasis columns of the central gate are also noteworthy.
